Homestead in Oakland, California's Piedmont Avenue neighborhood will be hosting a Labor Day BBQ on Monday, September 2 from noon to 6:00 p.m.
Service will be buffet style and cost $20.00 (cash only) for adults and $10.00 for children 10 years of age and younger (infants are free). Drinks, for an additional charge (again cash only), will be served separately at the bar.
The food menu will include bbq pork ribs and beef brisket; corn on the cob with chili lime butter; tomato and little gem panzanella salad; fingerling potato salad; baked beans; Firebrand artisan bread; melon with figs; peach cobbler; and s'mores bars.
Among the beverages will be sodas, fresh lemonade, ice tea, bottled sparkling or still water, beers, and one red and one white wine. Trappist Provisions of Oakland will be bringing beers on tap and unique bottles of micro brew.
Homestead was opened in early August by Fred and Elizabeth Sassen and offers an upscale farm-to-table menu prepared with seasonal, often locally sourced, organic ingredients.
Homestead is located at 4029 Piedmont Avenue, between 40th and 41st Streets, in Oakland, California.
