Homestead in Oakland to Host 5th Annual Dungeness Crab Feast
Homestead Restaurant in Oakland, California's Piedmont Avenue neighborhood will be hosting their 5th annual Dungeness Crab Feast on Tuesday, November 20 and Wednesday, November 21 from 5:00 to 9:30 p.m. each day.
These prix fixe suppers are designed for those who love crab and don't want to cook on the days before Thanksgiving. The cost will be $68.00 per person. There will also be a supplemental half-crab offered for an additional $18.00 and a half price/half portion ($34.00) will be available to children 10 years of age and under. All Homestead prices always include service but not taxes. The restaurant's regular menu will not be served those nights.
The Crab Feast menu will include an heirloom chicory salad with Shinko pear, pomegranate and Boont Corner aged goat cheese; grilled Dungeness crab with fried butterball potatoes, charred broccolini, spiced delicata squash and traditional accoutrements; and persimmon cake with roasted huckleberries, pistachios and yogurt whipped cream.
In the spirit of the season, Homestead is accepting as of November 1 pre-paid advance orders for holiday pies with pick up on November 21. There will be a choice of an 11-inch fresh pumpkin and maple pie ($30.00) and an 11-inch brown butter pecan pie ($50.00) made with a pound and a half of pecans.

The restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Neighborhood street parking is often an option and there is a city lot directly behind the restaurant.
