On Thursday, August 22, we invite you for a documentary screening of "Blood Seeks Blood," a film by Lewis followed by a presentation of the "Narrative Quilt Project" by Rhodes.
Over the past year, Rhodes hosted a series of quilt workshops and interviews with seniors in Bayview/Hunters Point. Through this process, he uncovered the history and narratives of African Americans who migrated to San Francisco in the 1940s and 1950s to work at the Hunters Point Shipyard. Over the past year, Lewis has hosted genealogy workshops and guided members of her community to take a journey through their genetic history.
