"Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Northern California" - Author Q&A

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Calling all hikers, backpackers and outdoor enthusiasts! Ever thought about hiking the Pacific Crest Trail? Not many of us can find a free four months to traverse the entire PCT so Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Northern California aims to provide section hikers with all of the info they need for a four day getaway or a weeklong journey.
Join us for a special evening with Philip Kramer, professional adventure and travel photographer and author of "Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Northern California," his new guidebook and the final installment of Mountaineers Books’ Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail series.
Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Northern California breaks down the region’s more than 740 miles of the PCT into shorter backpacking trips. Whether you have a couple of days, a week, or even more time, you’ll find a stunning route that is right for you. In the guidebook Kramer details everything you need to know, including access points, mileages between campsites, and the best places to stake your tent.
We'll have copies of the book available for purchase. We'll also provide beer & wine, light snacks and a special discount that evening!
Itinerary:
6:30pm - Philip illustrates the book and PCT with a slideshow of his breathtaking photography. 7pm - Q & A with Philip.

His featured stretch of trail took him from the spectacular High Sierra to the foot of the volcanic Cascades to the remote Marble Mountain Wilderness. Philip spent three years documenting the PCT in Northern California and made about 25,000 images.

Whether you’re crossing the dramatic landscapes of Yosemite National Park, wandering the forests and volcanic terrain in Lassen National Forest, exploring the shores of sparkling alpine lakes in the Marble Mountain Wilderness, or closing in on the Oregon border, Kramer’s got your back (though you still have to carry your own backpack).
