Healing Waters and Healing Waters Wilderness Adventures are two San Francisco-based nonprofits whose missions are to empower, inspire and enrich the lives of people challenging HIV/AIDS through wilderness adventures.
Participant Trips
We offer outdoor trips specifically for people with HIV and AIDS. In 2006, we are conducting rafting trips on the South Fork of the American River, kayaking trips in the San Juans of Washington, rafting on the Kern, our teen-camp LIQUID, day trips around the Bay Area and paddling adventures in Monterey and beyond. Working with qualified volunteers, we provide an emotionally and physically safe environment in the outdoors for individuals to take a moment to celebrate living, community and challenge their own beliefs about their strengths and abilities.
