Step inside our beautiful brick basement and discover iconic whiskeys of the U.S. in an intimate atmosphere that hints of a speakeasy past.
Whiskey experts Sam and Yong will guide students through a tasting of 5 different styles of American whiskey designed to expand the palette and answer questions such as:
How to describe the flavors of whiskey
What distinguishes the various types of whiskey
How to order whiskey in a bar and navigate a liquor store/bar menu
What terms on the whiskey label such as "single barrel" really mean
What are some classic cocktails made with whiskey
and more!
Yong has over a decade of experience behind the bar, including stints AT Bar in Shanghai, Bourbon & Branch, and currently, China Live, where he co-developed the scotch-heavy cocktail menu. Sam is a former brand ambassador for Buffalo Trace/Sazerac for Mainland China. He has bartended at some of the best whiskey bars around the world, from Senator Saloon (voted best American whiskey bar in Shanghai) to Hard Water (named one of the best bourbon bars in the US).
