Halloween Fun in Montclair Village brings a bounty of treats for all ages to enjoy, including a costume run/walk, trick-or-treating, farmers' market, live music, free crafts stations, merchant special offers, and more.
The festivities kick off with a morning custume run/walk at 9am starting at 6235 LaSalle Ave. Participants of all ages can roam the historic and haunted Railroad Trail above Montclair Village. Join in costume or in your fastest fit; strollers are welcomed. Advance registration is required.
The main festivities begin at 10am with a Trick-or-Treating tradition at the Montclair Farmers' Market (La Salle Ave. between Mountain Blvd. and Moraga Ave.). Bring your kids in their favorite costume as both market vendors and Village businesses will be handing out candy. Halloween bags for candy hauls will be available while supplies last courtesy of Montclair's Flair Travel and Pelago. Come to the Farmers' Market for fall fresh, local veggies and artisan provisions. This year, the Farmers' Market vendors will be fiercely competing in a Halloween spirit contest organized by Urban Village Farmers Market Association. Showcasing their creative flairs, the Farmers' Market merchants will be ready with tricks and treats.
Montclair Village businesses will also be out celebrating with fun activities and giveaways for all. Ilan Penson and Marissa Verson Harrison from Red Oak Realty and Montclair Presbyterian Church will host free crafting tables throughout the day. Oakland Firefighters Random Acts Parade Rig will be onsite to welcome and wow the kids. They can get their face painted by Lily's Arte and let their imaginations fly with balloon animals by Fly By Me Parties in the Village Plaza.
The entire family can enjoy live music in the Village Plaza (Antioch Ct. between Mountain Blvd. and Antioch St.) by Edna Brewer Jazz Ensemble (10am-11am), Jazz Education Ensemble (12pm-1:30pm), and SASS Dance Squad (1:40pm-2pm).
