Halloween Charity Black Mass + Movie Screening

SEE EVENT DETAILS
On October 28 at San Francisco’s Vogue Theater, Satanic San Francisco presents a charity fundraiser screening of the 2015 movie The Witch with a live, audience interactive Halloween Black Mass beforehand.

Tickets ($15) go on sale October 1. All proceeds benefit St James Infirmary, a non-profit San Francisco health clinic servicing sex workers and their families.

Satanic San Francisco is a group of atheistic Satanists promoting individual freedom and leftwing activism, founded on Halloween night 2015.

St James Infirmary is a multi-service health clinic for sex workers of all genders, their partners, and family members.

SJI helps roughly 500 local sex workers annually. SJI and Satanic SF have no direct relationship and have never worked together, but Executive Director Stephany Ashley says she’s “tickled and honored” to be the beneficiary of the event.

“SJI is a one of a kind local resource, and they share our ideals about women’s and LGBT rights,” says SSF spokesperson Daniel Walker. “Since mainstream religions may neglect a cause like SJI, we want to work for them.”

The Witch is a 2015 film about sin, death, and black magic in the New England frontier. Its themes about the repression of women and sex resonate with SSF’s ideals and SJI’s mission.

The Black Mass, a live performance art event celebrating the triumph of modern freedoms over archaic superstitions, begins at 9:30 p.m., with the movie immediately after. This event is for adults ages 18 and up.

Both the film and live performance contain nudity and graphic imagery. The Vogue Theater venue is not directly affiliated with Satanic San Francisco or this event. Satanic San Francisco is not directly affiliated with the Church of Satan, the Satanic Temple, or any other national organization.
