We probably don't need to tell you at this point how much we love Champagne, and by consumption numbers, it seems like you do too! One of the coolest trends in the past few years is the grower champagne movement, where a new focus is brought to the soils and farming in champagne by small producers who manage their own vineyards entirely. Instead of being regarded as just bubbles for toasts and parties, champagne has reclaimed its ability to compete with some of the most serious wines of the world. This tasting in a way is a tribute to the growers and their hard work!During La Fete du Champagne this year, we were struck by how educational (and fun!) it was to taste so many incredible wines side by side. While our event is on a slightly smaller scale, it is certainly more manageable. We will be tasting over 50 champagnes from different producers across a variety of appellations. By the end hopefully you will have a sense of how complex and unique each champagne can be! This will be a walk around tasting in the shop both upstairs and downstairs.
