Research has shown that programs that focus on career education and strengths-based self-assessment can help prevent dropouts and increase students’ academic performance. We are GROW (Growing Real Opportunities in the Workforce), a nonprofit organization that has developed a holistic self-awareness and career development curriculum designed to improve the emotional engagement and motivation levels of high school students. We strive to empower students to make self-directed choices about their futures; we do this by training counselors and teachers to deliver our curriculum to their students.
Our curriculum is effective and easy to teach. After taking GROW’s Class:
100% of students responded they had a greater understanding of themselves.
97% of students had more clarity about their career path
97% said they had a better understanding of how to accomplish their life goals.
Caseworkers tell us GROW has transformed students and deeply impacted their social-emotional development.
GROW will host its bi-annual training event on December 8th 10am-5pm, at Google in San Francisco. We would like to invite the teachers and staff members at your school to participate in this training and certification program. By becoming certified in our curriculum, they will be able to teach our workshops in their own classrooms. We will provide educators who attend our training event with the resources, content, and knowhow to successfully deliver a series of 16 workshops to their students. By following GROW’s lesson plans, teachers will empower their students to engage in self-discovery and career exploration through interactive and introspective class activities.
The cost of training is $799 and an annual licencing fee of $100, where educators will recieve updated and new curriculum. We do have scholarships available, so please don't have money be the barrier for your attendance.
After the training, attendees will obtain a members-only access to the GROW curriculum. On the members-only portion of our website, they will have easy access to refresher videos and all other materials needed to teach the GROW curriculum.
