CARe is delighted to announce an exciting upcoming event with our Dance Scholar in Residence, Dr. Alexander H. Schwan, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Theater Studies at Freie Universität Berlin and Visiting Scholar at the Berkeley Center for the Study of Religion.
This workshop will explore grief and healing through the medium of dance. We will be led by Natan Daskal, a core faculty member of the Tamalpa Institute, in movement of our own, as well as discussion as to the importance of movement in the process of grieving.
Natan Daskal's background in theater, dance, design and fine arts combine with his love of nature, dedication to social justice, and commitment to personal development under Tamalpa Institute's approach to learning and living artfully. Natan has extensive teaching experience working directly with Anna Halprin. Natan studied ballet at the Joffrey School in New York City, received his BFA in Communication Design at Parsons the New School for Design, and received his MA in Education at Goddard College where he studied the intersection of somatics, creativity, and community education.
Many thanks to GTU student Jess Jones, Director of the Berkeley Institute of Religion for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for hosting us!
