Out on the Pacific horizon, Blue Frontiers is building autonomous floating islands, or “seasteads.” Seasteads are permanent settlements on floating structures, which Blue Frontiers is designing to be environmentally responsible and equipped with state-of-the-art communication technologies. These seasteads will function as integrated solution platforms for mitigating the impacts of sea level rise and climate change. Greg will discuss his technology partnership work with Blue Frontiers, giving an overview of this futuristic project, as well as some background on his international work in sustainability and local economic development.
Greg Delaune is cofounder and CEO of The Urban Innovation Exchange (UIX Global), and is Technology Partnerships Director for The Seasteading Institute and Blue Frontiers, working to build the first floating autonomous startup societies in French Polynesia. He is an internationally recognized consultant, teacher, speaker, and writer specializing in sustainable economic development and public-private partnerships (PPPs) for Green Cities and Smart Cities.
Organized in collaboration with Franco Folini and ItaliaGeeks.
