"Granada" A Pomegranate in the Hand of God

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Please join us for an evening of interfaith reflection and discussion with Steven Nightingale reading from his new book, "Granada" - A Pomegranate in the Hand of God.

Followed by a conversation with:

Rabbi Allen Bennett, Rabbi Emeritus, Temple Israel in Alameda
The Rev. Canon Sally G. Bingham, President, The Regeneration Project
Ameena Jandali, Content Director, Islamic Networks Group

The brief reading will focus on the legendary convivencia - the "living together" of Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities in Medieval Spain. It was an era of extraordinary accomplishment in science, mathematics, art, and governance. It is a brilliant, historical example of the power and intelligence of interfaith alliance.

The panel will discuss the ways in which just such work is carried out today, and how it might be deepened, extended, and enriched, so as to build a foundation of hope for a peaceful future.

Free Admission

Doors open at 7:00 pm / Event begins at 7:30 pm (Wine and light snacks will be served)

Seating is limited! Please RSVP to Sarah Berg at [email protected]
