GODZILLAFEST will be a full blown convention, celebrating 70 years of Godzilla films. Complete with a dealers room, guests from Japan and the US, displays, demos and panels/interviews. Attendees will also have the chance to win prizes and meet the guests for photos and autographs.
The goals of this event are to bring crowds back to Japantown and into the restaurants and shops, to enjoy a complete Japanese cultural experience while taking part in the Godzilla convention, which will stretch throughout the mall. We also hope to bring people out into the community to enjoy the convention and make memories that will last a lifetime.
With the surprise success of the recent films, GODZILLA MINUS ONE and GODZILLA X KONG THE NEW EMPIRE, Godzilla is more popular than ever, and having won an Academy Award, he is gaining respect from more serious movie goers. It is also the 70th anniversary of the release of the first Godzilla movie. Something we will be promoting and celebrating throughout the weekend.

Our main guest of honor will be Megumi Odaka (Who played Miki Saegusa in 6 of the 1990s Godzilla films, from GODZILLA VS BIOLLANTE through GODZILLA VS DESTOROYAH). Ms Odaka will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans at designated times throughout the convention. She will also be at two special events (see below).
Toy Dealers & Art Vendors
We will also have a full dealers room in the Imperial Ballroom of the Kabuki Hotel. Toys, models, art and more. We guarantee you won't leave empty handed!
Panels & Interviews
Join us for panels on your favorite kaiju topics, as well as painting demonstrations, special presentations and more! Panels will be at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California throughout the weekend.
Displays
We are working on some kool kaiju art and poster displays and will also have a couple Godzilla pinball machines, courtesy of Stern Pinball and Pinball Pirate! Also look for the full wall-size Godzilla mural located in Japantown!

Enjoy two classic Heisei Godzilla films from the '90s featuring our guest Megumi Odaka. Ms Odaka will be there for a special on-stage interview.
Free Outdoor Saturday Night Movie
If free is your style, Japantown will feature an outdoor movie in the mall. The featured film will be the classic 1962 KING KONG VS GODZILLA!

Godzilla cosplaying will be featured and encouraged throughout the mall, the entire weekend! Join our cosplayers as your favorite monster, alien, human or whatever! We look forward to seeing how creative everyone can get!

Get your map and visit stores featuring Godzilla goods, foods and drinks throughout the mall. Collect your stamps and fill the map for a special prize!

Friday night will feature a special dinner/meet and greet with our special guest and others at the Fermentation Lab in Japantown. Mingle, munch and drink from 6pm-8pm and then get special early access to our dealers room from 8pm-10pm. Grab the goods before the crowds rush in Saturday morning!
