Girls in Tech Coding Bootcamp: Intro to SQL

SQL is a language used to query, modify and update data in databases, tasks commonly associated with data analysts and data scientists across multiple disciplines, including finance, marketing, business operations, product, and data science.

This workshop will provide a basic introduction to SQL, and is for those new to SQL who are looking to get familiar with language. The class starts with the must-know basics, building up to a some intermediate concepts of SQL.

Required Materials: Laptop

Instructor Bio
Christine Petrozzo has worked in the media industry for ten years, with 7 of those years working on analytics teams. A graduate of UC Berkeley’s School of Information master’s program, she currently is a business intelligence manager at CBS Interactive in San Francisco, using SQL on regular basis to support strategy and operations across the company. When she’s not working, you can find her pursuing her interests like traveling, learning Spanish, hiking ,playing with her new Brussels Griffon puppy, and mentoring women and men who want to learn more about data and its role within business.
