The year was 1974 and my parents Carl and Ginger Costa, inspired by my grandparents’ hopes of living the American Dream, bought an old Foster’s Freeze to start their own local little pizza shop. The secret to their success was the combination of hard work, lots of prayers and a little luck, along with their family recipes brought to America, over 80 years ago, from Palermo Sicily. This combination of local ingredients allowed their small Monterey shop to blossom into the bustling restaurant it is today. Four generations of our family along with our dedicated staff have carried on the tradition of serving delicious classic Italian pizzas to hundreds of hungry customers everyday.
