Getting to 50/50: Film, Fun & Conversation

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Did you know that there have been more than 50 elected women presidents and prime ministers? Did you know that 50% of men with paid parental leave feel like they can't take it? Where are we on the arc of women, men, and power and what will it really take to get to #5050?
May 10th, is the launch of 50/50 Day, a day when thousands of people will join a global conversation about what it will take to get to a more gender-balanced world.
To get the conversation started, SparkSF is holding a relaxed evening to bring together all genders to watch Tiffany Shlain's new film, 50/50, and have an open and unabridged conversation about gender equality in modern-day US.
Our goal is to create a gender-balanced room and take you on a journey of learning and self-discovery, creating a safe and fun space for everyone to ask each other questions and bring us closer to understanding each other.
We will keep registration open until we reach a gender balance.
Agenda:
6:30PM - 7PM: Mingling with cocktails, appetizers, pool, arcade and board games7PM - 7:30PM: Watch 50/50: Rethinking the Past, Present & Future of Women in Power7:30PM - 8:30PM: Facilitated conversation and cocktails in a playful setting. Continue to play pool and games.
The event is free for Spark members! We encourage all gender identities to participate.

About the 50/50 film:
50/50 gives the 10,000 year history of women + power — from setbacks and uprisings, to the bigger context of where we are today. Using her signature, cinematic-thought-essay style, Emmy-nominated filmmaker & founder of The Webby Awards Tiffany Shlain brings us on an electric ride to explore, where are we really on the greater arc of history of women and power? And what’s it going to take to get to a #5050 world — not just politics and board rooms, but truly shifting the gender balance to be better for everyone. Want to help us in #Gettingto5050?
