Join the movement and celebrate Genesys Works- Bay Area's 5th Cohort breaking through barriers and into the professional world at our signature annual event.
This inspirational student-led ceremony marks the culmination of a transformative eight-week 21st century skills training, and the beginning of 120 rising young professionals' journey on a meaningful year-long internship at a top Bay Area company.

Over 500 students, alumni, family members, and change-makers in the business, education, and philanthropy community will come together to recognize the accomplishments of the Class of 2018 and witness the unveiling of our high school students' internship placements as they cross the stage.

This year, in addition to our featured student speakers, we are honored to welcome Kevin Hart, SVP at Kaiser Permanente as our Keynote Speaker to discuss his breakthrough journey to become a top leader at one of DiversityInc's 2017 Top 50 Companies for Diversity.

Mr. Hart will be joined on stage by current and former students who will share their breakthrough moments and introduce the recipient of this year's Community Partner Award for their role in closing the opportunity gap.

FAQs
Why Breaking Through?
Too often, students growing up in low-income households are shut of today’s workforce. Nearly one in five students of color in the Bay Area drop out of high school, and even less graduate college at a time when the demand for college educated workers is rising.
That's where Genesys Works comes in. Our unique 14-month program prepares students to break through barriers and achieve lasting academic and professional success.
Our signature annual event is an opportunity to celebrate our young professionals and directly address the opportunity gap, together.
What is Genesys Works - Bay Area?
Our misison is to transform the lives of disadvantaged high school students through skills training, meaningful internships, and impactful relationships. For 5 years we have equipped and empowered more than 500 local students with the knowledge and skills required to achieve career success and a lifetime of economic self-sufficiency.
Of our program alumni, 98% go directly to college and 90% persist beyond their first year. This fall, we will place 120 students into paid, year-long internships with the following companies:
