INSTRUCTOR
Maggie is a proud San Francisco native and butcher’s daughter with over 10 years of experience working with non-profit organizations. After years of working for social justice movements and experience consulting social sector organizations, Maggie found her way to gardening through a love of food. She spent a summer working on a small organic farm in Mendocino County (2008), and then worked for Tomatero Farm, selling produce at farmer's markets. A graduate of the Get Up! program (2012), Maggie is an example that you too can learn to garden. Come find her at Garden for the Environment on Saturdays - she would love to meet you! Maggie's favorite plant at GFE is Grevillea 'Ivanhoe'.

FAQs
What are my transport/parking options getting to the garden?
There is available street parking, though be advised it can be challenging on weekends. Many buses and trains stop nearby, making public transportation a great option!  The 44 O'Shaughnessy, 6 Parnassus, N Judah and other lines all stop nearby.
What should I bring to the workshop?
Classes are held outside in our teaching garden. We recommend bringing a hat & sunscreen, comfortable closed toed shoes and lots of layers. You may want to bring a notebook to take notes on what you are learning and we recommend bringing a full water bottle as well.
Do you cancel classes due to rain?
We try our best not to cancel classes, but if the weather report suggests it is very likely it will be pouring rain during the class time, we will cancel the class that morning. We do hold classes in drizzling weather, and recommend students dress appropriately.
Happy gardening!
