San Francisco, CA – On September 17, 2017, from noon to 2:30 p.m., Good Shepherd Gracenter will host its largest annual fundraiser, Journey of Grace, at Patio Español, 2850 Alemany Boulevard in San Francisco.
“This fundraiser is instrumental in helping us run our recovery residence,” says Sister Marguerite Bartling, Gracenter’s Executive Director.
Gracenter provides each woman, all of whom are seeking long-term recovery from addiction, and many of whom were formerly homeless, with up to two years of transitional housing, three healthy meals per day and around-the-clock support services.
“I now have a stable full-time job and am living independently for the first time in my life,” says Elizabeth, who recently completed the program. “Out of the many things Gracenter provided for me, it is this ability to be independent that is the greatest gift of all.”
Gracenter measures client outcomes for up to three years after clients complete the program. Remarkably, even after three years, more than 90% of program graduates continue to stay in recovery from their addiction. Gracenter credits this to its holistic approach, which includes support finding employment, enrolling in higher education, onsite financial education and nutrition classes, as well as individualized case management--in addition to the 12-Step program.
Event tickets are $75 until August 25, and sponsorships are also available. Please visit
