From Glorified Volunteer to Driven Career

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Ensuring your social entrepreneurship isn't at the expense of your lifestyle or career path.
During this talk, learn how to build a social enterprise that can sustain your lifestyle... contrary to common belief, you do not need to sacrifice your living to have a nonprofit career, and you don't need to be a glorified volunteer! Come hear how you can build financial support for your organization early (even before you have evidence of impact).
Agenda:
6:30-6:45pm - Networking
6:45-7:00 - Welcome and Intros -- "Give and Take," announce your social impact business offerings and needs
7:00-8:00 - Program and Q&A
8:00-8:30 - Networking -- Connect with other attendees!
Snacks and drinks provided.
About the Speaker:
Meghan Freebeck is the founder & CEO of Simply the Basics and the Acting CEO of Project Homeless Connect, a Strategic Alliance of Simply the Basics. She has been in social services and nonprofit for many years, holding roles from Director of Communications of the Shakespeare Project of Chicago to Deputy Director of San Francisco Suicide Prevention.
In 2016, Freebeck was a 40 Under 40 Person of San Francisco. She was a selected "Changemaker" at the United State of Women Summit hosted by Michelle Obama in DC this past June. She has also been selected "Top Mentor to Other Women" 3 years in a row by the SF Business Times and a Leading Lady on "I want her job". This past March Hoodline had a surprise feature including Frebeck as one of 12 inspiring women in San Francisco.
