Sept 6 GWC Meeting with speaker Martin Lowenstein, Executive Director at Friends of China Camp (FOCC).
China Camp State Park is part of the Gallinas Watershed. The threatened closure of China Camp in 2012 broadened the focus and mission of FOCC, from educational and interpretive activities at the park, to saving the park from closure. The mission of FOCC is to keep China Camp State Park open and thriving for our community.
Until joining FOCC as its executive director, Martin had been consulting with non-profit organizations in resource development and governance, and he continues to be a passive partner in a private equity and real estate investment company. Martin enjoys running at China Camp State Park.
The GWC Board meets on the first Wednesday of the month in the Community Room of the Northgate Mall. Directions: Enter by the mall Food Court; turn R immediately; follow corridor to elevator; go to 2nd floor. Meetings are from 7 to 9 pm and everyone is welcome. We discuss matters of interest concerning Gallinas creek and watershed.
