French Consulate in San Francisco to Host High-Level Expert Panels on Biodiversity Conservation in Partnership with Presidio Trust.

The overwhelming evidence of the IPBES Global Assessment shows that World's biodiversity is under assault with 1,000,000 species threatened with extinction. In this context, the Office for Science and Technology of the French Consulate in San Francisco, the Presidio of San Francisco with the support of Bank of the West are co-presenting a free and open to all panel with French and American leading experts to discuss the necessary steps we need to take to preserve biodiversity in urban areas!

Among the panelist, Anne Larigauderie, the top executive who has led the effort to produce the IPBES report on global biodiversity.Jean-François Silvain, President of the Foundation for Research in Biodiversity. Lewis Stringer, Associate Director of Natural Resources at the Presidio Trust. Justin Brashares,Professor and G.R. & W.M. Goertz Chair and Rebecca JohnsonM(Moderator),Co-Director of Citizen Science at the California Academy of Sciences.

As part of the conference, the French cartoon artist Jeremie Royer will share drawings from his latest collection of work: "Audubon, on the wings of the world" and "HMS Beagle: The origins of Darwin".

This is a unique opportunity to meet the top executive of the UN organization for biodiversity preservation and studies, and to spread the message what might be, along with climate change, the most important threat to the perpetuation of life as we know it.
