Free workshop “Know Your Disability Rights”

Thursday, September 13th 6-8PM persons with disabilities and their families are invited to attend a free workshop “Know Your Disability Rights” which will be held at DSLC office (521 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA)
People with disabilities are often mistreated and silenced. Often they are not even aware that their rights have been violated because they don’t know what their rights are.
At the workshop, Potter Handy, LLP attorneys will inform you of your disability rights. It will be a combination of oral presentation and video— attorneys will discuss the historical development of the Americans with Disabilities Act as a segue into the current state of the law regarding disability civil rights and access. They will discuss common violations of the law as well as enforcement of those rights. Attorneys will also discuss the political landscape regarding the ADA and the California Civil Code protections. And there will be a question and answer session about the ADA, Fair Housing and Employment.
