Free Saturdays: Turntable Drawings at the de Young

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are the city's museums. As part of our initiative to welcome all San Francisco residents to the museums free on Saturdays, we provide free unique museum experiences celebrating the city we love.

The day will include engaging art experiences for the entire family. Enjoy access to the de Youngsters studio, family art making, gallery guides, enhanced gallery tours with discussion groups, sketching in the permanent collection galleries, and more.

Join us as Turntable Drawings brings unique performances in the permanent collection galleries, and Piazzoni Murals Room.
TURNTABLE DRAWINGS is an ongoing collaboration between composer Danny Clay and printmaker Jon Fischer based on a growing series of hand-molded records. Part sculptural sketch, part three-dimensional print, each record is part of a wide-ranging collection formed using a variety of techniques and materials. Records are imprinted with mathematical tones, original recorded material, or direct casts of existing LPs that include some of history's earliest recorded sounds.
