This Free Family Day will offer an array of creative activities that families can enjoy together, including art making, story time with San Francisco Public Library librarians, a treasure hunt that takes you around the museum, and a screening of the documentary Batkid Begins (2015) in our theater, presented in collaboration with SFFILM. Thematic activities will highlight the people of San Francisco and their stories, and explore photography as an artistic practice, taking inspiration from artist JR’s expansive digital mural The Chronicles of San Francisco (on view in the Roberts Family Gallery off the Howard Street entrance beginning May 23).
Up to two adults may each claim a free ticket when accompanied by a visitor 18 and younger on Free Family Day. These free tickets must be claimed in person on the day of the event. Regular-priced tickets will still be available for purchase both in person and online for those guests visiting without children that day. Visitors 18 and younger are always free at SFMOMA.
