THIS EVENT HAS ENDED
In the long-heralded San Francisco tradition of supporting worthy causes, the house music community is responding to such shocking statistics as the fact that 95% of the 15 million children orphaned by AIDS are living in Africa, and is joining forces to make a difference around the world. This same community united last year in the first “For the Kids” which was inspired by “For the Love” (2002), an unprecedented community event that raised money to help Wert Terry, a beloved member of the community, in his fight against cancer and towards his daughter’s education.

This year’s “For the Kids” is presented by: Grayhound, Om Records, DJ Adnan, Dax Presents, Sunset/Pacific Sound, Raindance, Green Gorilla, Nitevibe, DJ Seven, Tweakin', Anon Salon, Opel Productions, Spundae, Cloud Factory, NorcalDJMPA, staplemusic, and SFbyDEF.

Artists include: Miguel Migs, Jeno, Garth, MRK (aka DJ Markie Mark), Ellen Ferrato, Adnan, Andy Caldwell, Rick Preston, M3, Little John, Tracy, Galen, Solar, Joshua, Monty Luke, TK Disko, Fluid, Late Night Sneaky (live), Antonio, DJ Seven, Nikola, Fil Latorre, and DJ D.R.E.

With support from: YBR Promotions, WorldDJ.com, flavorpill, SFSTATION.com, and * The Big Love Show * on 90.1FM KZSU Stanford, EmailLabs.com

NextAid is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization dedicated to creating sustainable solutions for African children orphaned as a result of AIDS. By partnering with other organizations in the production of music benefits and awareness-raising activities, NextAid channels emergency and long-term aid to African children in need. NextAid is committed to represent the international dance community as the charity promoting an effective and practical response to the AIDS pandemic NextAid aims to inspire people into tangible action, taking responsibility and making a difference.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the building of an earth-friendly multi-purpose center for Youth for a Vision, a non-profit organization comprised of teens mostly orphaned by AIDS who use theater and music to teach AIDS awareness to their peers, literally saving lives. This center will serve as a template for future centers throughout Africa. One of the center’s buildings will be named after Wert Terry.
