Want to take gorgeous food photos? Learn some key techniques from a professional food and fine art photographer in the beautiful setting of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. Join CUESA and photographer Aya Brackett for a two-hour class introducing you to Aya’s approach to photography, with useful tips for capturing the vibrant colors and textures of fresh produce. This class will be part lecture, part hands-on, with time to take photos of unusual and underappreciated fruits and vegetables, so bring your DSLR or iPhone. Intended for beginning and intermediate photographers, the class will focus on a handful of basic techniques, allowing time for questions.
Aya Brackett is an accomplished fine art and commercial photographer based in Oakland. She worked as a photo editor for Dwell magazine for four years and has won numerous awards for her fine art photography, which often focuses on food. You can see her work in Sunset, Bon Appetit, Lucky Peach, Martha Stewart, Elle, The New York Times, and in numerous books and cookbooks.
