Come share a recent coding victory or question you are grappling with!
Whether you are digging into html/css to build your first page, learning an aspect of a framework, figuring out how to improve the complexity of an algorithm, or... something else, Floor’s Yours gives you a few minutes to talk about your work.
The open mic will be followed by a light lunch and time to connect with other engineers at different points on their journey—a great time to congratulate, empathize, talk through concepts, or take a closer look at code.
All skill levels are welcome. Women and underrepresented minorities are encouraged to attend. This is a positive, welcoming place to share the struggles and victories of learning and making where people are rooting for you!
Although speaking is not required, please consider it. Having a voice and a community is enabling. If you are not sure what to talk about, here are a few idea generators:
What is a programming concept you recently learned?
What tech stack or language are you working with and why did you pick that?
What was the last thing that you were stuck on that felt soooooo good to figure out?
What are you currently stuck on? What is the problem and what you have tried?
There will be a projector with all foreseeable adaptors ready for you to use if you would like to present with a computer.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
