First Friday: New Ballet Season Preview

Part of San Jose Museum of Art's First Friday program, enjoy gallery improvisation and a preview of New Ballet's 2022/2023 Season. New Ballet's Artistic Director and lead choreographer, Dalia Rawson, will present excerpts from the coming season, including selections from The San Jose Nutcracker, Fast Forward (an evening of new contemporary ballet) and Sleeping Beauty. New Ballet's orchestra conductor Thomas Shoebotham will speak about the work of composer Amy Beach, whose music will be performed live during a world premiere being created by Rawson for Fast Forward. Beach is a composer who wrote music in the early 1900s. She tops lists of "Female composers you should have heard of but haven't."
