The NEXT presentation of Woodside's Arts and Culture Committee is a step back into time! First, a motion picture documented San Francisco’s main street just four days before the 1906 earthquake. Then, a recently re-discovered second film chronicled the immediate aftermath. Join film historian David Kiehn of the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum and Rick Laubscher of the transit preservation group Market Street Railway as they tell behind-the-scenes stories of these films and interpret these priceless portraits of “The City That Was”.
Please join us for the rare and fascinating presentation and discussion of these two films. As always, our events are complimentary, as well as providing light refreshments. Presentation is from 7 - 8pm, but come a bit early at 6:45 to secure a seat!
