6:00 PM 9:00 PM
Our December First Friday Children's Storyteller Series and Teen Open Mic is filled with literary magic.

6:30pm-7pm:
Children's Storytelling with Children's Book Author, Angela Dalton, who will be reading from her book If You Look Up to the Sky, CH510 young author Aida Ndiayye and recently awarded young authors from We Write Here.

Angela Dalton was once a producer of online kids' games and other cool things. She likes to think that she chose writing but, the truth is, writing chose her. She now lives in Oakland, California where she spends her time looking up to the sky and writing stories the universe inspires her to share.

Aida Ndiaye is ten years old and in the fourth grade at Piedmont Avenue Elementary. She loves to write, read and go places (specifically Jack London Square). She believes she can fly. She dreams that she will write and publish 2,000,000 books.

6pm-7pm:
Teen Writing Workshop with Gabriel Cortez in our Room of Infinite Possibilities!
Free and open to writers 13-19 years old

Gabriel Cortez is a poet, educator, and organizer. His work has appeared in The New York Times, National Public Radio and Huffington Post. Gabriel is a VONA fellow, grant recipient, and winner of the Judith Lee Stronach Baccalaureate Prize! Gabriel Cortez currently works as Lead Poet Mentor at Youth Speaks, one of the world's leading presenters of spoken word performance, education and youth development programs.

7pm-9pm:
Teen Poetry Open Mic
