FIREFLY CLASS STARSHIP, SERENITY. To finish a contract, the crew of Serenity lands on a planet that produces mud only to discover that the least likely crew member is a local hero.
Faced with the unexpected spotlight, Captain Mal tries to organize smuggling their cargo off world while avoiding the vengeful arm of the local magistrate who is looking for the blood of ‘The Hero of Canton’, Jayne Cobb.
Will the crew be able to pull off their caper? Will the magistrate’s son satisfy his father’s need for him to become a man? Will Wash have toy dinosaurs do battle with each other when he should be flying Serenity? And just what is Mudder’s Milk made out of?!
