Man Dance Company of San Francisco is proud to announce the performances of our long awaited Firebird ‘World Premiere’! The ballet is a tribute to the late Matthew Shepard and will depict the tragic last moment of his life. It will leave our audiences with the knowledge of how that moment inspired a nation to grow!
The evening will also feature the romantic story of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, however we will tell it from Puck’s point of view, in which a contemporary wedding comes to life as Puck dream-sleeps after attending an early 20th Century Independence Day Celebration. The ballet will feature Man Dance Company best dancers Antonie Hunter, an African American Deaf and Hard of hearing choreographer and dancer, Jonathan Dummar and new dancers Ismael Acosta and Isaiah M. Sumler. Joining the cast will also be Alec Guthrie, the 2009 Youth Winner.
Show dates are July 11 & 12 at Marines’ Memorial Theatre.
609 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94102.
Shows are at 8:00pm, and tickets are $35.00 and $45.00, general admission.
