Finding Your Kinks: Exploring Your Erotic Template presented by Angie Gunn LCSW CST

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Kink HQ (see times)

Exploring the depths or your erotic self, while exciting, can be scary and unnerving. In our attempt to find and maximize pleasure and connection, we can also confront parts of self which challenge our ideas about identity, community, and belonging. What does it mean that you like that certain kind of play? How does your fetish inform who you are and how others perceive you? Where did these arousal patterns arise and can they be integrated into your life in a supportive way?
In this workshop we will discuss some of the methods of exploring eroticism, how to do so in a psychologically healthy and edifying way, to find your optimal path. This will be discussion based, but also include sexological concepts and up to date research on arousal and eroticism.
Presenter Bio:As a licensed therapist in private practice in Portland, OR, and online through Talkspace, I currently serve LGBTQIPA+, kinky, non-monogamous, sexual trauma survivors, and others as an ally, advocate, and resource for connection, change and healing. I also serve as the Sex Therapy Expert for the Talkspace Team of more than 2000 therapists. Trained in sexuality, trauma, attachment and family and community systems, I treat a diverse client base and serve as the chairperson for SPEEC, an intersectional sexuality non-profit. As a queer, kinky, polyamorous slut, I’ve experienced the daily fight to balance personal and professional fulfillment and sexual expression. I’m experienced in training and facilitation as well as mediation, using this variety of skills to reach new audiences.
Past Conference and Community Presentations - Converge Con (2017), Guelph Sexuality Conference (2017), AASECT (2017, 2018), Poly Group Madison, WI (2017), University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Counseling Students (2017), Catalyst (2017), Sin in the City (Vegas, 2018), Poly Dallas Millenium (2018), Reed College, sexual assault awareness week (2018), Portland State University, Counseling Program speaker (2018), Webinars for Talkspace.com (2017, 2018)
