Find Your PEACE: 6 week wellness group

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Just Won Ton (see times)
In light of what's happening in our society, our new 6-week group is relevant and timely.
Find Your Peace is all about the deep connection to self and others. It's about expressing ourselves through movement, art, and heart-to-heart connection within a circle of like-minded individuals. It's not therapy or a support group. The goal of this group is to learn, grow, and have fun! We hope that you will leave each of our weekly sessions feeling light, inspired, and with a big smile on your face!
Join us to develop your own self-help toolkit and learn various mind-body practices that support you in your journey to find peace of mind. It’s time that we start taking care of ourselves and building a strong support system around us.
Dates for 6 sessions: Tuesdays June 19th, June 26th, July 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st (Week of 4th of July is off). Times: 7 pm-8:30 pm with optional tea until 9 pm.
6 weeks and only 10 participants. Each weekly session will introduce a different mind-body modality by a guest facilitator and will include social sharing within a supportive group of participants as a means to experience wellness through PEACE:

Playfulness: Introduction, improv & movement (Drew Anne Wolfson)
Embodiment: Gut-brain connection & Yoga Nidra (Nimisha Gandhi)
Awareness: Yuan QiGong Ren Xue & awareness practice (Gabe Crane)
Connection: Relational Alchemy (Michael McDonald)
Expression: Sound Healing & Voice Yoga & Qi Vinyasa flow (Chelsea Kirby)
PEACE: Closing ritual & self-myofascial RELEASE using yoga massage balls (Liz Letchford)
About the group:
We created this curriculum being inspired by the group model developed by the Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM). It is the world’s largest, most effective evidence-based program for healing population-wide psychological trauma and stress. Self-care and supportive group work is at the heart of CMBM model and we will be integrating it into our curriculum.
About the group facilitator:
Regina Akhmadullina is an Integrative Health and Wellness Coach holding M.A. in Integrative Health Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies, CIIS. Regina got inspired to create this 6 weeks course after she experienced the power of group work as she facilitated Mind-Body Resilience groups at the leading US hospital, UCSF Osher Center.  Regina is also a founder of wellness.menu. With a mission to bring more happiness into both personal and professional life, they offer a wide selection of workshops and classes to improve physical, emotional, and social well-being.
