On Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 7:30 PM, at Room 12 of the Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Avenue, Los Altos, California 94022, the De Anza Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society will feature a program by Don Wallace of Singing Tree Gardens Nursery (
https://www.singtree.com ) on “Creating A Display Garden Nursery From Twenty Years Ago To Present”.
The ten acre Singing Tree Gardens Nursery, whose plants can be ordered via the internet, has a large display garden that would be good to visit if one is in the Eureka, Arcata, and McKinleyville area.

Singing Tree Gardens Nursery has a large selection of rhododendrons, including Maddenii Series rhododendrons which are perfect for our gardens; many maddenii hybrids were created in California.

Singing Tree Gardens Nursery has the Bowman form of the Maddenii Series species Rhododendron nuttallii, which is the best form of this species.

Unfortunately this form of R. nuttallii, which has very fragrant large white flowers and reddish purple new foliage, is currently not available, but should be.
Don Wallace created many rhododendron hybrids which are good for our California gardens.
Don Wallace is very knowledgeable about the care of rhododendrons, and can help you solve your challenges.

Don Wallace’s presentation to the De Anza Chapter will very likely be comparable to the presentation he shall be giving at the convention of the American Rhododendron Society that will be held in Eureka in April.

Don Wallace will be bringing plants to our meeting for sale.
To find more about an outstanding nursery, good types of rhododendrons for our gardens, how to successfully grow rhododendrons, and an ability to purchase choice plants, please come to our meeting.
