Festival Napa Valley, in collaboration with the Jarvis Conservatory, presents (not so) Silent Films and Animated Cartoon Classics. This family-friendly program brings silent films and early animated classics to life with live piano accompaniment by celebrated pianist and jazz composer Stu Llanes Manzano, and custom sound effects by percussionist and production professional Nick D'Anneo.
Audiences will enjoy the comedic brilliance of The Cook (1918), directed by Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, starring Arbuckle and Buster Keaton, alongside early Walt Disney treasures like Oswald the Lucky Rabbit - Walt Disney's hand-drawn precursor to Mickey Mouse- in The Mechanical Cow (1922) and Trolley Troubles (1927). The lineup also includes animated gems from the Fleisher Brothers' Koko the Clown cartoons and other silent-era surprises.
