Festival in the Park, Operation Eagle Visit Homecoming 50 Years

Join us for a fun family-friendly festival in San Mateo's Central Park celebrating 50 years of San Mateo's continued support for the men and women who have served in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. Nine cities on the Peninsula are partnering together for a weekend filled with festivities in honor of the occasion. The festival will include bounce houses, food trucks, face painting, music and more.
San Mateo adopted the 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War , and was one of the few communities in the nation to extend a thankful recognition to these soldiers when they returned from service. Since then, San Mateo has continuously maintained a relationship with the adopted troop. During the festivities we will be joined by 50 troops and veterans from our original adopted unit. The festival will be preceded by a parade on South B Street in san Mateo.
