Opportunity to meet Farming Hope Staff and Apprentices
Join the Farming Hope squad in October to feast on our delicious summer harvest! This dinner is part of our series of monthly fundraiser pop up dinners at Manny's in San Francisco. We feature guest chefs, community discussion, and the chance to break bread with people from all walks of life in our city.
This October 3, we'll join a communal table to eat together and hear the story of Farming Hope.
Farming Hope serves food and runs our culinary job training program at Manny's, a civic gathering space in San Francisco's Mission District. Our guest chef dinners serve two goals: get people outside of their social bubble to talk about the issues of the day; and raise funds to support our programming and number of trained apprentices.
To support our venue host, we ask guests to purchase wine and beer for the evening at the bar from Manny's.
The chef of the evening will be Patrick Neilley, Chef Trainer and Catering Manager of Farming Hope.
Chef Patrick is originally from New York, and has been cooking in many kitchens around the Bay Area, most recently including Homestead in Oakland and Cockscomb in San Francisco. He loves to transform produce through fermentation, and use flavors he's picked up from his time cooking on the line to cook New American cuisine. He started working with Farming Hope in November, and he has been instrumental in our operations at Manny's. Join us to eat his interpretation of a "Summer Celebration"!

FAQs
What is the dress code for community pop up diners?
Come as you are! No dress code, we are a casual bunch.
I want to join the conversation and try the food, but can't afford a ticket right now. Is it possible to get a ticket still?
Of course! We have free tickets available for community guests, please reach out to Farming Hope staff in person or email
[email protected] to inquire about community tickets.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Manny's is located at 3092 16th Street. Parking is difficult, particularly at night. We highly recommend taking BART if possible, as the 16th St. Mission Station is one block from Manny's. There is also a bus stop and Ford Go Bikes stand right outside Manny's front door. There is a city-operated parking garage nearby at 16th and Hoff St., entrance on Hoff St.
Are children welcome?
Yes! But please note - everyone that attends our dinners is required to have a ticket.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please email
[email protected]. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner, but please understand our time is limited in responding promptly since operating a restaurant and job-training nonprofit seven days a week.
What's the refund policy?
No refunds, a donation never hurt anyone (and it has helped).
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes.
Do I have to be there at 6:30 pm sharp or can I come in whenever? I really hate commitment and being on time.
Dinner is served in courses, so if you're late, you'll miss some of the courses - we recommend coming early and having fun with us together throghout the evening.
