Overview
Turn local bounty into a masterpiece at the dining table.
The Silicon Valley was historically known as the Valley of the Heart’s Delight—named for the abundance of fruit trees, flowers, and agriculture grown throughout the region. Today, an ode to the valley’s agriculture past is thriving—farmers markets can be found throughout the greater Silicon Valley daily, and boast a remarkably diverse selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables, sustainably raised meats, homemade cheeses, and more.
At times, the abundance of food and options can make a trip to the market overwhelming, and deciding what to do with your bounty may feel like a burden. Let our chefs show you how to create a menu showcasing their finds from the week’s markets, and use these fresh ingredients to create a delicious three-course meal (including seasonal sides, entrees, sauces, and dessert). You will learn techniques such as raw food preparation, grilling, sautéing, and simple desserts. At the end of class, sit down and enjoy your meal with your classmates and instructors, as you look forward to the next visit to the market.5 HOURS - $195
