Far Out on Film

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Far Out: Suits, Habs, and Labs for Outer Space, this film series examines humans' continuing desire and curiosity about the outer limits of the universe. For some, space exploration is the ultimate ambition, for others it is the only means for survival. The privilege of space travel - and who gets to go and what happens when we get there - mirrors the limited rights and oppressions encountered by some members of society on our home planet. Space, known and unknown, is a formless arena in which we can project human frailty, dreams, and fears, as well as address existential questions of humanity's place in the universe.
