Fall Docent Training at the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Love learning about the natural world? Enjoy sharing your knowledge with others? Then become a docent for the Museum! No previous experience is necessary, only current enthusiasm.

Museum docents are volunteer tour guides, trained by Museum staff to lead school programs for K-7th grades. Our Museum-based tours include Ohlone Culture and History, Storytime, and general hosting and exhibit training. Our field-based tours include the Wetland and Watershed Walks at Neary Lagoon, and Santa Cruz Sandhills Exploration at Morgan Preserve in Scotts Valley. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to learn about the natural world and share it with young minds.

If you are interested in attending trainings, you are encouraged to attend a Volunteer Orientation first. Please register online at https://www.santacruzmuseum.org, or RSVP to Daniel at [email protected] or (831) 420-6115 ext 15.

The Santa Cruz Natural History Museum has been bringing the delights and wonders of the natural world to Santa Cruz residents and visitors for over 100 years and exists to achieve its mission, “Connecting people with nature and inspiring stewardship of the natural world.” No longer a City-funded organization, the Museum now depends upon local community support to keep our natural history legacy thriving.
