Join us for a day of community, mentorship, learning, art, and fun for students with learning and attention issues (like dyslexia and ADHD) and their families! Programming is directed at students age 10-14, but fun for all ages!
--Students will spend the afternoon with similarly labeled high school and college Mentors taking part in Eye to Eye art projects that focus on critical social-emotional learning skills like self-advocacy.
--For adult families, the day will feature a discussion with an Eye to Eye Diplomat (trained to share inspiring stories and practical strategies for success) and other experts in the field.
At the end of the day, families will be brought together to discuss their experiences. Parents gain a new and hopeful perspective on how they and their student view their learning difference. Students explore how to become empowered; they learn about the opportunities for support, are encouraged to understand how they learn and become able to self-advocate for their own metacognition.
