Jim and Janie Hodges will lead worship this Sunday, along with their son, Todd, and his partner, Will Coleman. The family will share their journey, Exploring the Rainbow, from a conservative religious background to an open and affirming stand. Afterwards, everyone is invited to the Social Hall to continue the story in a more informal setting with the entire family.
This is part of East County Shared Ministry’s ongoing “Continuing the Conversation,” a quarterly series of interactive discussions about issues often found to be difficult. Based on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “Building the Beloved Community” concepts, previous topics have ranged from a poverty simulation to the improvement of listening skills for better understanding opposing points of view.
Whoever you are and wherever you are on life’s journey, ALL are welcome here. We recognize, celebrate and give thanks for the many diverse gifts of God among us. Everyone is invited to participate in community and worship including, but not limited to, believers, seekers, agnostics, women and men, those of all sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions, those of all races and cultures, those of all classes and abilities, those who hope for a better world and those who have lost hope.
