The San Mateo Chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby will be hosting a climate change presentation on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, 6:30 - 8:00 PM at Half Moon Bay Public Library. The featured speaker will be Dr. Mark Levine from Lawrence Berkeley Lab.
Dr. Levine's evidence-based presentation will highlight how the effects of climate change are already evident today, including more frequent and intense extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods, fires and droughts. Dr. Levine will discuss the climatic events that are likely to take place if greenhouse gas emissions are left unchecked as well as effective ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to avoid the
worst impacts from climate change.
A Senior Staff Scientist at Lawrence Berkeley Lab for the past 40 years, Dr. Levine also holds credentials as Founder of the China Energy Group and consultant to
the California-China Climate Institute at UC Berkeley,
a group launched by Jerry Brown in partnership with China's top climate change official, Xie Zhenhua, and
Tsinghua University.
