April 2 - 11, 2021 (Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm PST, Sundays at 5pm PST)
Our world premiere Zoom commission follows a young, queer pastor attempting to navigate her new congregation's shift to online worship due to COVID-19. As seasons change outside and the flat timeline of quarantine continues, the church fights to maintain a practice that rotates around fellowship and community across generations and cultures when they can't hug, cook, or sing together. 'Every Time I Feel the Spirit' is generously supported by a grant from The Tournesol Project.
'Every Time I Feel the Spirit' is an interactive, immersive experience. We invite our Zoom audience to participate in theatrical fellowship if they wish, singing hymns, submitting prayer requests, and participating in the services.
Playwright Noelle Vinas' plays ask, "what if we reverse the cardinal directions on our maps and our assumptions, which often only serve those who drew them? What if a system of oppression can be undermined by the sharpness of the story we tell?"
Pay What You Can $8 - $40.
Presented by Shotgun Players.
