Ellen Pao's landmark gender discrimination case against venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, propelled her to the front of the fight for diversity and inclusion — years before the Times Up movement. Her 2012 lawsuit helped encourage other women, people of color and especially women of color to stand-up against harassment and discrimination in tech in what has been called the "Pao Effect.”

Pao is a diversity and inclusion activist, venture capitalist, former CEO of Reddit, and co-founder of the award-winning diversity and inclusion nonprofit Project Include. Her writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Time, Lenny, and Recode. She has earned an electrical engineering degree from Princeton and law and business degrees from Harvard. Her efforts to call attention to workplace discrimination have led to the term “Pao effect.”Elizabeth B. Davis, PhDDean, USF School of Management Dr. Elizabeth Davis has been the dean of the School of Management since August 2014 and is the first female dean in the school’s history. She is an expert in strategic management, organizational dynamics, sustainability, and business policy. Dr. Davis received her PhD in systems sciences from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and her BA in sociology from Barnard College, Columbia University.
