#ElixirCAWhiskeyWeek: Sonoma Distilling Company w/ Adam Spiegel

#ElixirCAWhiskeyWeek presents Sonoma Distilling Company
WHAT: Elixir California Whiskey Week presents a week of opportunities to get to know our local whiskey makers.
This session presents Sonoma Distilling Founder and Whiskeymaker Adam Spiegel leading a discussion and tasting of how he and his co-workers create 100% California whiskey sourcing only non-GMO California grains and doing all production in house, from milling and mashing through bottling and labeling. 
Elixir California Whiskey Week is a precursor to Whiskyfest San Francisco on November 2nd. Check it out here. 
WHEN: Thursday, October 25th, 7pm-8:15pm (Come to the bar early, have a beer and relax until we start. Adam's team will be pouring tastes and talking to the crowd during and after the class from 7pm to 9pm)

Overview
While focusing on the Sonoma Cherrywood Rye Whiskey, we will review and sample grains, and review various ages of whiskey from new make to fully aged. We will also review Sonoma Rye Whiskey and our Sonoma Bourbon. 

ABOUT Adam Spiegel
Adam Spiegel was born and raised in San Francisco. From a young age, he experienced the bounty that Sonoma County offers through regular visits to the area with his parents. He fondly recalls trips to its beaches, attending concerts, and tagging along on wine tastings.
In 2008, he found his passion for creating spirits while assisting a distiller friend in Santa RosaSonoma Distilling Company was founded in 2010 as one of the first 200 distilleries in the United States.
“While working with great Master Distillers and Blenders over the years, I’ve honed my skills to continually raise the bar with each new product and batch. There are no “Masters” here per se; we’re just regular people striving every day to better ourselves and our craft. I like to say we’re making whiskeys in a small way for a big world."

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
yes, you must be 21 or older
 
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
16th Street BART Station, walk 2 blocks WEST from there on 16th.
#22 Bus
street parking is tough on Thursdays. There's a garage on Huff St.
 
What can I bring into the event?
Drinks purchased at the bar. Food can be ordered in (try Caviar.com) and eaten in the bar, but please don't bring dinner into the session.
