Elixir presents a #WHISKYWEEK special event: Rye: An Exploration of Canadian and American Whiskies

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Rye: An Exploration of Canadian and American Whiskies
WHAT: An informational guided BLIND tasting of SEVEN rye whiskeys (various brands) lead by Lot 40 Brand Ambassador Gina Fossitt
WHEN: #WhiskyWeek Special Event! Wednesday, October 4th, 8pm-10pm (Come to the bar early, have a beer and relax until we start. Gina's team will be pouring tastes and talking to the crowd.)

Explore the production practices, regulations, and paralleled histories that make these North American whisk(e)y styles so similar, yet each so unique within the whisky world.  Blind taste the two styles, comparing different production methods and grain ratios as we break down the wall of misconceptions.  Learn the simple truths of rye whisk(e)y.
BONUS: There will be a raffle!
*This class will take an in-depth look at Lot 40 Rye Whisky and attendees will taste the Cask Strength before it is released.
ABOUT GINA FOSSITTGina is the National Ambassador for Lot No. 40 Rye Whisky.  Her passion for great whisk(e)y started when she was touring the world, sharing many post-show toasts with her fellow tap dancers, musicians, and crew. Eventually, she spread the whisky gospel through a variety of roles in the restaurant and cocktail scene, earned her Advanced Certification in the WSET program, and became the Beverage Director for the iconic NY establishment, P.J. Clarke’s. She went on to become a Master of Whisky and completed a 2-week Malt Advocate study abroad in Scotland and an internship at The George Dickel Distillery. She has earned the revered IBD certification – the General Certificate of Distillation – and developed and led a 6-month mentorship for other ambassadors and whisky professionals up to the challenge. Other certifications include the Filson Bourbon Academy and Executive Steward in Stave & Thief’s Bourbon Steward Program. Gina also serves as a judge on tasting panels for Tastings.com. Currently, she is working on the Diploma in Distilling from the IBD.
